We love our big Berners! While Gus may be unaware of his size, he is the most gorgeous stud and he knows it. Nana on the other hand is the epitome of her name (with a dash of sass!). She stays close to my side and can walk through a coop of chickens without flinching. She lets the baby pigs nuzzle her and she doesn’t blink at the cows…since they are only on the way to her favorite stop…the pond!
Bernese Mountain Dogs originated as the all around farm dog in the pastures of Switzerland. They are a strong breed and yet as gentle and loving as can be. They are known for adoring children. These dogs thrive in snow and cooler weather. They love outdoor time but are not always keen for long hikes or strenuous exercise in the heat.
